Episode 7 – Has ATLS had its day?

ATLS was introduced in the UK in 1988 and since then nearly 75,000 trauma team members have been trained. Widely considered the international “gold standard” in trauma management, questions have been raised about whether the programme is fit for purpose in the UK. Criticism of ATLS is not hard to find, but are the arguments fair? In this podcast, Dr. Lara Zibners of the ATLS UK steering group, examines some of the criticisms against the programme and argues that ATLS is not only relevant to practice in the UK, but necessary.
